Task 5: Letter of Introduction and Resumé
A Letter of Introduction and a Resumé
Your last task is to make a good impression on their Royal Highnesses. You will do this by writing a letter introducing your team and submitting individual resumés that will showcase your collective experiences and talents.
Your letter will be in a formal business format. The body of the letter will include:
- the purpose for the letter
- rationale for going to the New World
- reasons why they should choose you over other candidates
- what you will need from them
- what you will give them in return for their royal favor
Remember the writing process:
- prewrite
- draft
- revise
- edit
- publish
Open a new Word document and sell yourself!
Your individual resumés will give the King and Queen some important information about you. Think as a person of the 1400s and 1500s would think. What jobs existed then? What navigational skills would people need? Some research may be needed to provide the necessary information. You will create your resumé using a template in Word or Publisher. The resumé should include:
- name
- objective
- education
- languages spoken
- current occupation
- previous job experiences
- professional memberships
- special licenses
- navigational skills
- community activities
- character qualities
- interests and hobbies
- other personal information that might be helpful
- three personal references that are not related to you
Your teacher must approve your letter and your resumé
